We may receive your name, contact details and correspondence when you contact us. The website host processes limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. We also use first-party, cookie-free analytics to understand which pages are read and which websites refer readers to us. For a successful page view, we record the date and time, page path, referring website domain and a short-lived visitor code. We do not record query strings, full referring URLs or cookies.
The visitor code is derived from technical request information using a cryptographic salt. The underlying IP address and browser description are not stored, and the code changes each day. It is used only to estimate daily unique visitors. Obvious automated traffic and browsers signalling Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are excluded. Analytics records are retained for no longer than 13 months. We use this information under our legitimate interests in understanding and improving the site.
We use other information to respond to enquiries, administer business relationships, maintain security, comply with legal obligations and establish or defend legal claims. The relevant lawful bases are legitimate interests, steps taken at your request before a contract, performance of a contract and compliance with legal obligations, as applicable.
Information may be processed by service providers supporting website hosting and analytics, email and business administration, and by professional advisers or public authorities where necessary. We do not sell personal information. General enquiries will normally be retained for no longer than two years after the last meaningful contact. Records relevant to contracts, accounts, tax or legal claims may be retained for up to six years or longer where the law requires it.
UK data-protection law gives individuals rights which may include access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability. A complaint may be made to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. This site uses no advertising or analytics cookies.
